§ 2-678. Authority to issue citations.

Any code compliance officer is empowered to issue citations to a person when, based upon personal investigation, the officer has reasonable cause to believe that the person has committed a civil infraction in violation of a duly enacted city code provision or ordinance. All city code provisions and ordinances may, at the election of the code compliance officer, be enforced by this division by means of citation to the county court, except where expressly prohibited by law or ordinance.
